It is a program that:
Combines the areas of Speech/Language and Fine Motor Therapy, in a group setting
Is run by a Speech/Language Pathologist and an Occupational Therapist
Is for children in Senior Kindergarten – Grade 2
Aims to have children interact with each other
Brings together children with similar skill levels, in order to achieve goals needed for school
Gives parents a hands on approach and tools to help their children
Fills the need for therapy once Early Intervention ceases therapy
Children must:
Be in SK, Gr1 or Gr2 and be able to follow simple directions
Be able to stay in a group setting without the parent and with minimal adult supervision
Be interested and able to hold a pencil or marker to write with
Be able to sit for a short period of time (10 – 15 minutes)
Details of Program:
Cost: $200 per child
There will be an initial ½ hr assessment so that the Therapists can meet the children and set goals for them.
Tentative date: Wednesday April 7th between 5:15pm – 8:15pm
There will be 8 sessions in total
The program will run on Wednesday evenings, from April 14th to June 2nd from 6:30pm – 7:45pm
The program will be held at the Ontario Early Years Center in Oak Ridges (Bayview between Major Mackenzie and )
